My SpaceMouse Pro is Getting Old

I need to get this off my chest!

I have a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Pro of which the top four buttons and the wristpad have become rather sticky. Now I can't help but wonder what to do.

I used my SpaceMouse Pro for as long as I could for Firestorm; an application I use for Second Life and other virtual worlds. Quite some time ago, I lost that ability, because Linden Lab terminated their support for 3D mice. As soon as I realized what happened I reported this to Linden Lab, but I'm still waiting for them to restore the support.

At this point, I may have some explaining to do, because... If I have a problem using Firestorm, and Firestorm is not made by Linden Lab, then why am I on Linden Lab's case? It's like this:

Linden Lab are the makers, not only of the virtual world Second Life, but also of the Second Life Viewer. Firestorm is based on the code of the Second Life Viewer, and so, Firestorm has inherited the support for 3D mice from the Second Life Viewer. Now, let's get back to the reason for this post.

As I said, some parts of my SpaceMouse Pro are sticky and now I'm wondering what I should do. Will Linden Lab restore the support for 3D mice in the Second Life Viewer, and in doing so, make it worthwhile for me to get a new 3D mouse, or should I just give up on the idea of ever using a 3D mouse for Second Life and other virtual worlds again, because Linden Lab will never restore the support for them anyway?

I'll do my best to bring Linden Lab and 3Dconnexion together again and we'll see what happens.

As always, I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. If you have any questions or comments, then please let me know in the form down below.
