I don't like posting about anything even remotely political on my blog, but today, I kind of have to.
As reported by Julia Reda, as well as undoubtedly many other sources, negotiators from the European Parliament and the Council have pretty much sealed the fate of the Internet as we know it...or so I've come to understand. I'll leave the explanation of the details to people who understand this kind of thing better than I do. What I will do, is share links to all the places on the web where you can (still) find me. Consider them extra ways to read or listen to what I put out onto the web or to reach me, just in case a way you've been using so far is lost.
Facebook - I'm guessing that everybody knows Facebook and the bad things that are going on on this service. To be honest, I'm only still on there because I have friends there and because I use Spotify and log in using my Facebook credentials. Yes, I know, I advised against that in this post, but I had no choice at the time.
Flickr - I and my friends in Virtual Ability use Flickr to post pictures from Second Life.
Good Reads - I'm not much of a bookworm, but here's where I collect books that either I've found myself, or that have been suggested to me.
Instagram - This is a service where you can post pictures taken with a smartphone or tablet. I don't use it that often.
It's My URLs - This is a service where you can post links to your social media accounts. I started this before I had a website of my own. Now, you can find links to my account by simply following the domain name of my website with /anchor, /facebook, /flickr, or whatever service you want to find me on. I'm actually using these same redirects in this very post.
Minds - This is another social network that came into existence when the openness of better known social networks like Facebook and Twitter was drawn into question.
Pastebin - I use Pastebin to maintain files that are saved as text.
Pinterest - I use Pinterest to save links to resources I'll need to get to and live in the USA and I might have some other boards on there as well.
Second Life - Here's a link to my Second Life profile feed. A kind of Twitter for Second Life residents.
Twitter - Here's another social network that ended up being censored, which caused new social networks like Gab and Minds to appear. I'm so busy with other stuff that I rarely tweet anymore. I'll try to do it more. I promise.
Whatsapp - This service relies on the publication of your phone number, but I still use it.
As always, I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. If you have any questions or comments, then please let me know in the form down below.
Please fill in all three fields or the form will not be sent. Your comment will not appear right away.
