A Bench Was Removed

My proverbial hobbyhorse is accessibility. More specifically, accessibility of public areas and buildings to everyone. That explains this text that I crafted from a presentation I gave back in 2013. This post will also be about accessibility. OK...kind of.

public place with concrete slab where there used to be a bench

I took the above picture near a care home. There used to be a mozaic bench here. Rumor has it that it's been removed, because people left too much trash around it. This is a shame for people who want to take a break when they go out for a stroll.

While it could be argued that removing the bench has led to less trash being left in this area, I generally do not appreciate solving one problem by creating another. Personally, I think it's a shame that the bench was removed. Not only because it looked kind of nice and we're now left with an eyesore, but also, as I said earlier, because it gave people a place to take a break.

I don't want to be too presumptuous, but I will venture to guess that you don't like the above image any more than I do. If you'd like to keep similar things from being done elsewhere, then please help to make sure that trash goes where it should go.

As always, I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. If you have any questions or comments, then please let me know in the form down below.
