Surely, everybody knows the feeling of needing to leave an unpleasant event in the past. In order to do so, we may need to remove something from our lives, every now and again. May the removal of yet another post from my blog, a few days ago, aid my dearest Cori in this as well as myself.
If you're having trouble leaving an unpleasant past behind you, I have some pearls of wisdom that may help. They may also help if you're having trouble with someone repeatedly digging up unpleasant memories.
Let me start off with a Dutch proverb that is meant to discourage one from getting old cows out of the creek.
Next are some quotes of which I don't know who they're from:
If you erase all the mistakes of your past, you would also erase all of the wisdom of your present. Remember the lesson, not the disappointment.
I also have some shorter ones:
If you don't let the past die, it won't let you live.
Focus on what you’re building, not what you’re leaving behind.
Here's a quote from Kevin Gates:
If you focus on the hurt, you will continue to suffer. If you focus on the lesson, you will continue to grow.
